New Cisco
Secure Client
In order to start the new “Cisco Secure Client” for the first time, previously known as “Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client”, please navigate to the Start Icon and then All Apps on your taskbar. Cisco is listed under C:

For reference, this is the previous visual for “Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client”, if you see this, you still have the older version of the software.

Once launched, the client will pop up on the lower left corner:
In order to connect to the UCSD VPN, please type in “vpn.ucsd.edu” into the input field of the client and click Connect:
A new pop up will appear, please input your AD credentials and click OK.
Afterwards, Cisco will inform you to authorize the login attempt via Duo. Please authorize the attempt on your phone or security token.
Successfully authenticating and logging on will show a brief notification popup informing you that have been connected successfully.
For those upgrading from a previous version
Please note that the new icon in the system tray looks slightly different from what you may be familiar with:
