Reasons Accounts May Be Suspended Or Closed
"Accounts will be suspended the second consecutive quarter a student is not enrolled."

To copy your Email/Drive data to a personal account before your student account closes:
IMPORTANT - if your @ucsd.edu account OWNS any files, regardless of their current location, these files will be fully deleted when your account has completed the closure lifecycle and is fully deleted from Google systems
Why is this important? If you saved files in someone else's folder and this folder does not live in a SHARED DRIVE, these files will be deleted when your account is deleted
You must Transfer Ownership of the files to whoever should be the new owner of the file if you want them to retain access to the files after you leave
Notification sent out to all Jacobs School of Engineering alumni who currently utilize an @eng.ucsd.edu Google account, but OEC has no record of active affiliation with a campus department.
Due to changes in licensing and storage offerings from Google, we are no longer able to extend access to these Google accounts for Alumni.
Alumni @eng.ucsd.edu Google accounts will remain open through: November 30, 2023
If you would still like to receive email that is sent to your @eng.ucsd.edu email address, the available path forward is a two-step process:
Sign up for the Alumni Association’s Email For Life service, here: https://alumni.ucsd.edu/perks/email-for-life.html
Sign up for @eng.ucsd.edu Permanent Forward service, via the email notification from google-transition@eng.ucsd.edu
OEC will send out monthly reminders regarding this closure.
NOTE: If you are still actively affiliated with a UC San Diego department that would like to sponsor a UCSD account for you, please contact that department to work out sponsorship details, and then they can request an account for you via their own processes.
