Microsoft Office/Windows

OEC and the Jacobs School of Engineering are part of the campus MCCA (MicrosoftConsolidated Campus Agreement). This provides access to Windows and Office products for our eligible administrative staff.

OEC also provides a way for anyone in JSOE to purchase a license for Windows or Office through our agreement. This would be a small yearly subscription fee, payable through a campus charge account.

If you are already licensed, you can access Office 365 features at https://portal.office.com

  • Type your @ucsd.edu address and your Active Directory password, this will require Duo authorization

  • You will see the apps that are available online

  • You can also click "Install Office" to download and install Office on your computer

Adobe Acrobat DC

OEC and the Jacobs School of Engineering are part of the campus Adobe ETLA (Enterprise Team Licensing Agreement). This provides Adobe Acrobat Pro DC to our eligible administrative staff.

OEC also provides a way for anyone in JSOE to purchase a license for Acrobat Pro DC through our agreement. This would be a small yearly subscription fee, payable through a campus charge account.

If you are already licensed, you can access Acrobat features at https://documentcloud.adobe.com

  • Click Sign In at the upper right

  • Type your@ucsd.edu address and click Continue, then choose "Company or School Account"

  • Walk through the SSO login, then you will see the online options available

  • You can also click "Get Acrobat DC Desktop" to download and install Acrobat Pro DC on your computer

Adobe Creative Cloud

OEC and the Jacobs School of Engineering are part of the campus Adobe ETLA (Enterprise Team Licensing Agreement).

Through this program, we can add Creative Cloud licenses to our agreement for a very reasonable price. This would be a yearly subscription fee, payable through a campus charge account.

Platforms: Macintosh, Windows, and Unix

MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing. It integrates computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use environment where problems and solutions are expressed in familiar mathematical notation.

University of California San Diego has a Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license for MATLAB, Simulink, and add-on products.

Trello’s boards, lists, and cards enable you to organize and prioritize your projects in a fun, flexible, and rewarding way. Free for personal use.

Jira Software: The #1 software development tool used by agile teams. Free trial, check with your systems administrator for details on an account (or email support@eng.ucsd.edu).

Slack collaboration gives your team the power and alignment you need to do your best work. Free for small teams.

G Suite Addons

Two web-based applications are included in our G Suite (Google) domain.





Lucidchart is a visual workspace that combines diagramming, data visualization, and collaboration to accelerate understanding and drive innovation. Free with your @eng G Suite account.


Lucidpress is the design & publishing platform anyone can master. Free with your @eng G Suite account.
