Secure Connect Exception Process

Once an exception request has been identified as Jacobs School of Engineering, and ITS OIA has completed their initial checks on the request, the exception will be assigned to the Jacobs School of Engineering UISL (Unit Information Security Lead).

The exception request will go through a technical evaluation, to determine:

1.  the technical block preventing the system from full compliance

2. if there is a true technical block, then ensuring that the system is meeting both Campus Minimum Network Standards, and UC Minimum Security Standards

Once the UISL has completed the evaluation, the results are compiled and sent to the Jacobs School of Engineering Unit Head (Dean of Jacobs School of Engineering). Each exception request will be approved/denied, and this will be reflected in the Campus Exception process.
